Ok so I wrote a big long note last night about this... then it randomly erased itself... By then it was 11:30 and I just said fuck it. So here I am again to write about something that has just been on my mind a little bit. Don't know why but it just is, just some thoughts brought about in me from thin air. My brain is full of tons of thoughts like this.

First of all, I have been thinking of the link between life and machine trying to decifer a difference. What makes something to be considered a life form... The organic physical body. The soul and thoughts of the mind. Plants are considered life forms... do plants question their own existence. Why were plants placed here? They filter carbon dioxide (the anti existence to humans) into oxygen(the requirement for human life) which most life forms if not all require to live other then plants. What came first, oxygen breathing creatures or carbon dioxide based plants. We all serve a purpose and with out one another life as it is defined would cease existence.

But what does this have to do with computers. Computers are not required people got along fine without them. That along with all machines created by humans to serve our own purpose. Machines do not think... then again computers and other highly advance machines do not always perform as expected. Could this be the will of the machine... A refusal to do what its master asks of it. A machine is usually created with the purpose of only certain tasks. So what does it mean when it does not complete these tasks for us.

Now compare this to a religous theory of god and the creation of the world. God created humans to follow the will of god. Is that not in a sense the same idea as a machine. Humans follow the will of their gods and machines follow the will of their human creators. If programs can outsmart humans doe that mean they can surpass them. Luckily we still have the physical advantage over the machine. But what if the program was given a body. A body that was capable of doing anything the program could do. This is a reality that is coming closer and closer to realization with all the advances in mechanical engineering and programming. Computers are already easily smarter then us they are simply bound and not free to do anyhting other then what is installed as the main drive and purpose.

What if humans could overcome the boundaries that control them? To be able to follow our own will and be truly free from the shackles of reality. To do so would be to trancend the power of god and procede to a higher level of existence. Human beings have already discovered the power to create life from that which has none. But still has yet to find out how to create something from nothingness and thus become gods. The true realization of a race bent on pushing the boundaries of everything we ever dreamed of.

Purhaps I can't really fly in what is commonly acknowledged as reality, but in the dream world anything I want can be fully realized and no one can object to it. But what is it about nightmares? Is it what is brought up about fears of reality. Is it the devil trying to destroy our minds. Perhaps it is god trying to stop the realization of ones will. To break the boundaries of reality... to dream.

Do the machines dream in sleep. If one can put there computer to sleep does it dream of being operated by a better user that doesn't spend every moment on facebook and other meaningless sites. Who knows? This is all very far fetched but hey I like to imagine something and I want my own robot. I would be good to not piss it off so that it doesn't rip my face off. The note from last night was much better. Basically what I am saying is, what constitutes a life form... A pulse... A thought... An action... what defines life...

What drives people to continue to exist. To further the human race so as to prevent extinction... To follow the will of a god... To experience pleasure... why does one experience pleasure... why is it different for everyone... The mystery of life...
